May 2019:

Please join us in welcoming Jenny Hoffman as our new Lay Ministry Administrator.  Jenny was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church and has been our Sunday School Director for the past two years.  She is a graduate of Whitewater State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education.  She taught middle school students for five years, and worked with students with emotional and behavioral disorders.  She worked as a project manager for an international publishing firm, and most recently worked for Skaalen Retirement Services.   She looks forward to working with people of all ages and being a valuable addition to Christ Lutheran Church.

February 3, 2019:

On February 3, 2019 the congregation approved the 2019 budget which did not have enough funding for a second pastor at this time.  The consensus  was to allow the Call Committee to review options to provide additional support for Pastor Paula.  The Call Committee has had several meetings and is at this time considering hiring a Lay Ministry Administrator for an unspecified time.  The Call Committee is currently working with Pastor Paula to develop the job description which will be posted looking for an internal candidate.  Once the details have been worked out, the job will be announced at Church and posted on this website.

Thanks,

Dan Matson

Future Direction of CLC – Surveys, Survey Results, and Analysis

On this page you will find all information from the CLC Council on the process to call a new Pastor.  At the Congregational Meeting on June 24, 2018, it was decided to have a congregational meeting in September, 2018 to discuss this issue further.

Several questions were asked about the “Call Process.”  Click here to learn about the call process.

This document is written for churches with only one pastor, so some areas don’t fit CLC’s situation.  i.e. CLC does not need an Interim Pastor etc.

Survey Results, Analysis

A survey has been conducted by the CLC Church Council.  The results were presented to the congregation at the congregational meeting on June 24, 2018.  Click here to see the Survey Analysis.

Call Committee Updates

November 2018:

The Call Committee has met most Sundays this fall to plan for the call of a new co-pastor.  This past month most of our work was dedicated to preparing interview questions, deciding on where interviews should take place, preparing an information packet for prospective applicants, and discussing the timeline of events.  We are now at the stage where the Synod has our Ministry Site Profile and is sharing our call with the community of pastors who may be interested in responding.  We are told that initially we will receive three applications.  At this time we have not received any applications, but this was expected as the first level of screening applicants is done by the Synod.  It is our hope to have these initial interviews in November.  From there we will decide if additional interviews are necessary.  Pastor Paula has a role in screening applicants as well.  The interviews themselves will be done by the Call Committee and results discussed with Pastor Paula and the Synod.  As much as we are in a hurry to move on with a new co-pastor, we recognize the choice must be for the right person.  The Call Committee will not be able to share any applicant names, but will keep the congregation informed once interviews start.
