Mall Scavenger Hunt April 6 - 3:00 p.m. This is a favorite event for our youth! The annual mall scavenger hunt will be Sunday, April 6, starting at Christ Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. This event is for youth in grades 5-12. We form teams and then attack a shopping mall in Madison, looking for clues and answers to many questions. This is also a time to have your friends help you shop for that new outfit or pair of shoes. Pizza will be served, and we should complete the event by 7:00 p.m. Adult drivers/chaperones are needed. Please see Pastor Paula, Rich Hosfeld, or David Erdman with any questions. |

Men in Mission Host Father/Child Dinner April 23—6:00 p.m.
Fathers have some crazy ideas for their kids!
In the early 1980’s Robert Asp, a schoolteacher who had never sailed or built a boat, decided to do just that. Not a fishing boat, mind you, but a hand-built, seventy-six-foot replica of a Viking ship that ended up seeing its crew—Bob’s children—safely across the Atlantic Ocean.
On Wednesday night, April 23, beginning at 6:00 p.m., the Men in Mission invite all fathers and children to come to church for a meal and video presentation of this Father/Child adventure. Tom Asp, a son of Robert, who sailed the boat across the ocean, will be with us to answer questions and help tell the story of his father’s dream and how it changed the lives of his children.
Please plan to join us. The meal will be kid-friendly, the program about 50 minutes long, and I know from past experience that it is really worthwhile for all who share the time. This year, spend some time with your son or daughter at Christ Lutheran and learn about a father’s dream for his children that may not be so different than your own. |

Early Release/No School—Afternoon of Thursday, April 24 The Youth Ministry Team invites youth (grades 5-12) and their friends to join us for an afternoon of activities at Christ Lutheran on Thursday, April 24. First, join us at noon for lunch and some open gym time. After lunch, we will pick up garbage along our adopted highway (weather permitting). Yes, it’s a dirty job, but someone needs to care for the environment that our God has given to us! If we do a good job picking up trash, we will stop at the local Culver’s for some frozen custard. Finally, we will return to Christ Lutheran for some other chores and surprises. Please join us! Adult chaperones and drivers are needed for this event—please see Pastor Paula, Rich Hosfeld, or David Erdman with any questions. |

Senior High “Sugar Creek” Mission Trip (This year’s eighth graders through seniors) June 15–20, Cost: $100 (The actual cost is $200, but each person will receive a $100 campership.) Sugar Creek Bible Camp has been given 50 acres of land on Gull Lake near Brainerd, Minnesota. They need help developing that site into a Bible camp. Our mission trip this summer, to help them develop the site. Right now, all that is on the site is a port-a-potty. We will leave Stoughton at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 15, camping at Crosslake Campground (about 20 miles away). On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we will work from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and build a little storage shed to store equipment in, work on trails, build a campfire cook site, and put in a dock. We will also be donating $750 towards the purchase of that dock. Thursday will be entirely devoted to playing. We will return on Friday. Estimated time of arrival home is 6:00 p.m. When not working, there are a number of things we can do for fun: swim, sun, fish, golf, sail, kayak, check e-mail at Aunt Bea’s (across the street from the campground), and eat our daily ice cream cone at the local ice cream store. We will camp at a campground where Pastor Paula’s family has been camping for years. It is absolutely beautiful, with huge campsites, two swimming beaches, a clean lake, fish to catch, great bathroom and shower facilities, and golf courses in the area with weekday and twilight deals. We will sleep in tents and trailers, cook our own food, and enjoy daily Bible studies and nightly campfires. If you plan to golf or fish, you will need to bring additional spending money. |

THANKS! A big thanks to everyone who has helped prepare the youth rooms in our new facility. A big thanks also goes to adults who have helped chaperone events over the past couple of months. The Youth Ministry Team needs help every day to plan and carry out all the opportunities we have for youth ministry in our new facility.
Pop Machine—The pop machine in our church is provided by the Youth Ministry Team, with profits going towards youth programming at Christ Lutheran. The machine is located in the education wing near the restrooms. In addition to pop, the machine also offers juice, water and two flavors of Gatorade. Thanks for supporting this pop machine and youth ministry at Christ Lutheran.
New Youth Ministry Team Structure!
The next Youth Ministry meeting is on June 1 at 7:00 p.m. The Youth Ministry Team still needs more help to plan and carry-out all the opportunities we have in the new facility. The Youth Ministry Team has a new structure with sub-groups that focus on specifics for grades 2-4, 5-8, and 9-12. Please contact Rich Hosfeld, Pastor Paula, or David Erdman TODAY if you can help with one of these teams.
